Lorelei James

The second author on my Auto-Buy List is Miss Lorelei James, and not just because she touts having many, many pairs of cowboy boots.  Yes, her Monday ManCandy is nice to look at but it has all to do with her writing. When you read one of Miss James’ books you need a cool glass of water loaded with shards of ice close and handy because things get very hot between the pages!  All her books have absolutely delicious covers to give you an image of her hard-working=hard-body cowboy heroes.  If you are not a fan of cowboys, I guarantee after reading a book or two of hers, you’ll consider heading straight for Wyoming in hopes of catching a glimpse of a Muddy Gap cowboy!

Miss James does not hide the dirty side of life in her writing but rather exposes it and weaves a trail for her characters to rise above their past.  She fills her heroes and heroines with honour, passion for the outdoors, for family, and most of all for love.

COWGIRLS DON’T CRY from the ROUGH RIDERS SERIES is my favorite book Miss James has written to date.  Brandt McKay has always loved Jessie endearing him to the reader from the get go.  This book is filled with the passion all her books harness but with an added twist that involves a child helping to heal Jessie’s heart.  Love has jilted her before and made a fool of her.  It takes the right cowboy and a little boy to convince her to love again and a whole gamut of readers hoping she tells them they own her heart.

Brandt is my favorite McKay.  Any woman would love to call him her own, hold him in her heart, in her home and in her bed! He definitely knows how to please a woman! Like all the McKays, he is a little tarnished from the curve balls life has thrown at him, but with Jessie by his side, he’s determined to fight off his demons.

I shed a few tears over this book, but it is a romance so rest assured the ending is a happy one.  If you think you can handle the heat, check out Miss James website for COWGIRLS DON’T CRY and a list of all her other books http://www.loreleijames.com
